Pct. 1 Constable Mounted Enforcement Posse
Welcome

The Galveston County
Pct. 1 Constable’s Mounted Enforcement Posse is under the direction of Danny
Sendejas. The Galveston County Pct. 1 Constable’s Mounted
Enforcement Posse
is an all-volunteer organization and all members own their own
horses.

The purpose of the
Galveston County Pct. 1 Constable’s Mounted Enforcement Posse is to:
· Devote time &
effort to community service
· Use horsemanship as
a benefit to others
· Aid in maintaining
public peace through a visible presence
· Assist Galveston
County & surrounding Law Enforcement agencies.

All members of the
Galveston County Pct. 1 Constable’s Mounted Enforcement Posse are required
to attend training in:
· Mounted Patrol
training for the posse member and their horse
· Crowd control
· Defensive tactics
· Radio usage
· Search & rescue
· CPR & First Aid for
humans and horses
· Traffic control
The Posse members
attend Mounted Patrol Clinics. Along with the training, the
Posse members compete in Mounted Patrol Competition. This
competition is intense and demanding on the horse and rider. The
riders are judged on their control over their mounts

as well as their
communication with fellow team members. The horses are judged on
their performance as well as their responses to their riders.
The competition categories include:
· Crowd control with
smoke bombs, flares & sirens
· Wilderness survival
to include first aid, shelter preparation & stabilizing victims
for horseback travel
· Obstacles course to
include barriers that will teach the horse & rider how to
overcome an obstacle in a positive manner,
· Defensive tactics
course
· Course with
different types of search & rescue patters.
